Pumpkin Crunch Oatmeal

Recently I switched dog food brands since we added another dog to our pack, and I wanted to save a little money. In doing this, it caused a tad bit of tummy trouble with our new dog. As in, you could hear his stomach grumbling from across the room. Google informed me to give him some pumpkin, so I opened a can, planning to feed it to him.

It was promptly and politely declined. Continue reading Pumpkin Crunch Oatmeal

4 Ingredient Homemade Deodorant

As you may know, health is one of my main priorities. What I eat, how often I exercise, I even care about the products I use on my skin. For a while I tried two different brands of natural deodorant. Tom’s “Long Lasting” Mountain Spring, and LaVanila’s The Healthy Deodorant Vanilla Passionfruit.

I was given the LaVanila deodorant in exchange for a review on the product. I researched the ingredients, compared it to Tom’s deodorant, and gave my opinion.  It was better than Tom’s in that it actually kept me from smelling. All day. Tom’s only worked for a few hours.  Continue reading 4 Ingredient Homemade Deodorant

Chai Carrot Chiller

Have you ever had one of those mornings where you’re just sick of eating the same breakfast you’ve been eating every morning for the past year? Well apparently your body absorbs nutrients the best in the morning, so it would be worth re-evaluating your breakfast routine to maximize your health benefits. Pack in those nutrients, people!

There is something about chai .. something about it that makes me crave it at all hours of the day, and in any form. Teas, Lattes, muffins, candles, you name it. So here is your excuse to drink it regularly and add nutrients to your morning routine ! As if you needed a reason to drink chai. Ha.

Healthy & Savory 6 Ingredient Penne Rosa

Isn’t pasta just the best? It is so versatile – you can eat it for any meal of the day, there are virtually endless ingredient combinations, and it can be made to cater to any food allergies/food preferences.  And above all, it is so delicious and comforting.

Today I was short on time (and available dishes) but I was really craving a hearty meal. There weren’t any leftovers in the refrigerator, so I looked in the pantry out of desperation. There it was, my box of red lentil pasta I had recently bought at Costco. Coors Light Citrus Radler

I have always personally preferred the taste of Coors Light over Bud Light, but when Budweiser added lime to their light beer years ago, I couldn’t help but to become brand-loyal to Budweiser during the summer months. Last summer I wrote a review on Coors Light’s Summer Brew, which I found to be a disappointment. This season, Coors Light released a Citrus Radler that rivals Bud Light Lime (unlike last year’s Summer Flop).

I had no knowledge of this product until I went to the liquor store one glorious day. Continue reading Coors Light Citrus Radler

Lemon Blueberry Vanilla Smoothie

The weather is warming up, which makes it the perfect time of year to start eating smoothies! They are delicious, have a ton of health benefits, and can be low calorie!

Recently I have been replacing lunches with smoothies or juices to ensure I get enough fruits and veggies for the day. To be fair I eat a ton of vegetables already since I’m vegan, but I surprisingly don’t eat much fruit.  Continue reading Lemon Blueberry Vanilla Smoothie

Apple Pear Pomegranate Cider + Cocktail Ideas

Each year my husband and I like to purchase apple cider so we can use it for cocktails. If you’ve ever had “Hard Apple Cider” before (dark rum mixed with apple cider), you know how delicious it is. But you also know how sweet it is.

Trying to be on the healthier side, I wanted to make my own apple cider; this way I know there aren’t any preservatives or refined sugar added to it. I went into making it thinking I would  sweeten it with honey, but after it was all said and done, it was sweet enough on its own!

DIY Holiday Stag Silhouette

Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching. That means my husband will soon want to put up Christmas decorations. And by soon, I mean like,  tomorrow.

I feel like our Christmas decorations go up earlier every year.

Although I am hesitant to put our outdoor decorations up until at least the day after Thanksgiving, for fear of being “that family” to the rest of the neighborhood.

Since it’s impossible to avoid the preThanksgiving Christmas decorations while out shopping, I may or may not have bought a few things. Hey, you’ve just got to embrace it.
